It poured rain the whole 20 mile drive over to the Subaru dealership which was absolutely terrifying, as it felt like the water on the road was controlling the car, not me. The drive back was far more relaxed. So far these new Pirellis seem to handle far better than the bridgestones, and certainly do not hydroplane like the bridgestones. The steering also feels far more sporty and agile. Overall I'm super impressed with these tires so far, hopefully they will last a long time, and will provide me with good service.

Scorpion Verdes, niiiiice!
Did you get it aligned afterwards? To help extend (lol extend) the life of the tires.

Verde All Season Plus. Haha. The alignment on the car is straight. It only has 20,000 miles on it. At some point I’m going to purchase lifetime alignments from firestone for my car, but for not it’s all good.

New tires are a good feeling. I’m waiting for my current Pirellis (P4 all-seasons) to wear out a bit more just because these are far worse than the stock Kumho Solus all-seasons that came on the car. Considering my car is 110hp in optimistic conditions, it should not chirp its tires, yet even when the surface is damp or if I’ve stopped on a painted line, these Pirellis will chirp and struggle to grip where the OEM Kumhos never had this problem. Their lack of grip is also apparent when taking corners the same way I always would but these start to chrip, and it’s not like I’m going fast, either.

I had heard not so good things about pirelli’s car tires, but from the reviews I read, and from what I’ve experienced so far, their crossover tires seem far better.

It was surprising. I know they can make good tires on the high-performance end of the spectrum, like the fancy Pirellis on the P1 or Ferrari or those even fancier Super Trofeos that are optional on the P1.

Nice. I’m thinking about a set of scorpion ATRs for the Explorer. It’s between those and a set of Cooper Discoverers
